The Culture Diary

A cultural calendar for 2012

The Culture Diary, a calendar and online planning tool, has been created to help the planning and promotion of every cultural event taking place across London in 2012.

With so much activity going on, it is crucial organisers give plenty of advance notice for events they are planning in 2012, so public service resources can be effectively coordinated and allocated across London during the year.

The Culture Diary closed to new registration and events on 31 March 2011.

However, users who registered their events by the deadline of 31 March 2011 will be able to access the diary from 8 April 2011 to update and edit their events.

Organisers of major London-based cultural events who missed this deadline should contact the local borough where they are considering holding their event.

Registered users can continue to use the Diary to:

  • See what else is planned for the year, identifying collaborative opportunities, including artistic content, as well as potential clashes
  • Identify other opportunities such as joint marketing and promotional campaigns.
  • Share ideas and planning with partners across the city

Information from The Culture Diary will be shared with a cross-London planning group, including emergency services, to plan the distribution of resources in 2012. Some events may be contacted if there are further questions/queries relating to dates/timings/locations.

Information in The Culture Diary will inform a year long-promotional campaign showcasing the depth and breadth of London’s extraordinary citywide cultural offer, starting in September 2011.

The Gypsy Roma Traveller History Month London has registered with the Culture Diary and the London GRTHM Steering Group are already planning events for 2012.
