Working in partnership with Gypsy, Roma and Traveller communities

A one day conference for professional clubs, service providers and the Travelling community

Do you want to engage with the Gypsy, Roma or Traveller community through your club, county or organisation? Kick It Out, football’s equality and inclusion campaign, has teamed up with Queens Park Rangers Community Trust and Stand Up, Speak up to deliver this one day conference looking at how football can be an important way to engage with the Gypsy, Roma and Traveller community in the UK and will launch our practice guide to doing this. The conference will explore how we can break down barriers between the Gypsy, Roma and Traveller community and the wider football family, and showcase some of the strides made by QPR in this area.

With a keynote speeches from Lord Herman Ouseley and Arthur Ivatts, educational workshops and football specific sessions with members of the Irish Traveller community in West London, the day will provide a valuable insight into how best to engage with these communities.   (The day will also include a screening of the acclaimed Traveller boxing film Southpaw)

Date: Tuesday 8th May

Time: 10.30am-4.30pm

Venue: The W12 Club, Queens Park Rangers FC, Loftus Road Stadium, South Africa Road, London W12 7PJ
